Friday lunch special; four pieces of excellent catfish, fries, homemade slaw, delicious hush puppies. It all appeared freshly made and the catfish was almost too hot to eat. Seat yourself in a relaxed environment with lots of big windows. Easy parking...no crowds even for a late lunch Friday. Service was fast and pleasant. The final offering of freshly made and still warm three layer carrot cake couldn't be passed up and it was every bit as good as it looked. Any time I'm in Little Rock, this place is on my list. It's been around a long time and has always been above average. Today's lunch was the kind of good food and relaxed experience that you hope for when eating out. The location, near the intersection of Bowman Road and Kanis Road is easy access. Give it a try and I'll bet you'll like it...they also have a full bar.

TL;DR review: straightforward burger, but you'll need a bib. A coworker told me I should really try this place, so I took him up on it. With a laugh, he said "Get a chili burger, and wear a bib. Don't forget the bib." I walked in, a sign told me to wait to be seated, as a woman pretty much immediately told me to sit anywhere I like, or if I'm to-go, they could take my order at the bar. I like options. So I went to the bar, placed my order, and was pretty much ignored, but after about seven minutes, a guy who carried himself like an owner took my card from in front of me and asked me what I had. I told him and he ran the card, and when he brought it back, he gave me my order. When I got back to the workplace and opened the styrofoam container, they'd given me the chili on the side, and the cheese burger was loaded with lettuce, onion, pickles, and tomato. "Don't forget the bib. Yeah right." So I started eating the burger without the chili on it, then taking a bite of the chili. First, let me say the burger was _really_ good. Not like what you'd make in your back yard, but much closer to that than what you'd get at a fast food chain. The chili was okay. I also ordered chips and cheese dip. The dip tasted similar to my velveeta/rotel dip, but it was runnier, and it didn't solidify as quickly. As I lifted the last bite of burger, I confidently looked down at my shirt, knowing that it would be spic-and-span. WRONG. Somehow, the tomato had dripped, I guess? I didn't get the chili anywhere near over my shirt, so it MUST have been the tomato. I was going to have to eat crow. So if you swing by, and you try the chili burger, DON'T FORGET THE BIB!

I had the pepper jack cheese burger with onion rings. Onion rings were very good, burger was ok. Wife had the chicken soft tacos. She said they were delicious. Both had ample servings and the food was hot and fresh.

Friendly staff... Quick service (i was one of three people here), had chili- excellent, and their seasonal chix salad croissant-also excellent! Just what i needed tonight.

My group had chicken fingers w/ fries, catfish tenders w/ onion rings, and a vegetarian burrito (not on the menu). Everything was well prepared and tasty. The place has a friendly, open, energetic diner type atmosphere. Good basic American-style food.

I have not been here in years so I thought I would give it a try glad I did . We started out with some cheese dip that was really good. I thought my kids were going to lick the bowl. I got the cheeseburger it comes with chips but I got fries. Burger was really good I thought the bun was a little chewy or something but other than that it was yummy. My son got shrimp po boy lots of shrimp and he really liked it. My daughter got grilled cheese and she said it was good. We hot the pumpkin bread pudding for dessert, be sure to share it's a large piece but very rich but was good. Our server Katie was excellent. We will be back we really enjoyed ourselves

Food was good. Had to ask for it to go because we had a meeting to get back to. There was several of us but people who came in after received their meals before we did.

Very surprising food. Expected lots of fried foods but really good options. Would recommend the blackened catfish and onion rings were sublime. Quiche was excellent too. Super friendly service. Would eat there again!

The food was absolutely awesome. Everything had a great flavor. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. Service was great. This place makes me wish I lived in Little Rock. This will be a must stop on our travels here in the future.

I'd been wondering about Alley Oops forever, as it's one of the few restaurants in Little Rock I had never tried. Being that I had a coupon from the Enjoy the City book, I decided it was time to try them out. I like the decor- very modern, which is exactly my taste. I tried a grilled chicken sandwich with pepperjack cheese and chips. It wasn't bad, yet it wasn't great either. A little bland for my taste. They also offer the option to add fries, onion rings, or a baked potato for an additional charge. Unlike me, my husband and friend had been to Alley Oops multiple times over the past few years. My husband had a cheeseburger and chips, which he enjoyed. Our friend had a double cheeseburger with fries. He liked everything that Alley Oops had to offer, and especially enjoyed the homemade desserts. While driving out of the parking lot, I noticed a sign on the road that stated additional specials and side items. It would have been nice to have our waitress mention these to us, as we would have probably opted for a different selection. FYI, Alley Oops also has happy hour specials daily.

A Little Rock institution! Great American style food for not a lot of cash. Try the burgers, quesadillas, chicken strips, sandwiches, cheese sticks, lunch specials...you name it & you won't be disappointed. The desserts are homemade by the owner, Gary, & you can taste it in every bite.

Mediocre food, at best. I had the fried catfish dinner which was plentiful. Wanted a baked potato but when it came with whipped oil and there was no butter in the kitchen I swapped it for fries. Salad typical of a hamburger joint. They have burritos and tacos too. Just fine.

Alley Oops is basically a bar in the back with a small dining area in front. My feeling was that dining was secondary to the alcoholics in the back. But the food was pretty good. It is not the best but not the worst either. I would go back.

Love Alley Oops. According to our grandson they have "the best chicken fingers in the Universe". I agree. Burgers and salads are wonderful! Never had anything there that was not delicious.

Things that are excellent here: hand breaded chicken fingers (best in LR), hamburgers, onion rings and fresh deserts. The staff is very nice and accomodating. Good happy hour until 7 on weekdays. If you are looking for solid comfort food this is one of the best in LR.
